The Complete Guide to MCT

HUMAN SUPER FUEL (AND IT'S 100% NATURAL!)

This means that it's a great source for energy for your Keto routine!

What's in it?

OUR MCT IS 100% NATURAL WITH NO ADDED NASTIES!

Our MCT is vegan, paleo, gluten free, GMO free and doesn't contain nasties you might find in other MCTs such as soy, maltodextrine, silicon dioxide and palm. But how is it made?

STEP 1 - Getting refined coconut oil

We extract the coconut oil from the husks to produce crude coconut oil. This coconut oil is then refined using a all-natural process.

STEP 2 - Extracting the fatty acids

Refined coconut oil is made of of fatty acids and glycerol. We separate the fatty acids and distil them to separate the most desirable MCT - C8 or Caprylic Acid - and refine it.

STEP 3 - Making MCT oil

Refined coconut oil is made of of fatty acids and glycerol. We separate the fatty acids and distil them to separate the most desirable MCT - C8 or Caprylic Acid - and refine it.

STEP 4 - Converting MCT oil into MCT powder

To make MCT powder, MCT oil is put through a process called "spray drying", where the oil is bound to acacia fibre, converting the liquid into a solid.

How do I use MCT?

Add a serving (11g of powder or 15ml/1 tablepoon of oil) to a black coffee or a drink of your choosing. Avoid beverages with sugar. For best results, use during a fasted state, before a workout or at a time when concentration and focus are required (for example before a meeting or an interview).

Use MCT up to 3 times per day. You can increase the serving size over time, but it's recommended to begin small while the body adjusts. If you experience discomfort in the stomach, lower the dose and frequency until the body adjusts.

TOP TIP: Many our customers start their day with a coffee containing MCT and Keto Pro Chocolate Ketones - tastes like a Mocha!

Should I choose powder or oil?

Many people trying MCT for the first time often as whether it's better to go for the powder or the oil. It's very much a matter of personal preference - each has its own benefits. Because the powder is bound to fibre, there's slightly less C8 per gram, but the powder acts as a creamer so works better in coffee. The powder is also a little bit easier on the digestive system than the oil.

Why is C8 the best MCT?

We're going to delve into the science a bit here! The C8 MCT molecules in our oil and powder are shorter chain molecules than the other MCT molecules (C10 and C12). What this means in practice is that they're converted into ketones a lot more efficiently. Our powder and oil use only C8 MCT - many other brands will use a mixture of C8 and C10.
